Msgr. Tomáš Holub was ordained a bishop of the city on Saturday, Apr. 30, 2016, by Cardinal Dominik Duka.
Bishops of the Czech Republic and the representatives of religious orders met on April 18–20, 2016 in Hejnice at the 105th plenary meeting of the Czech Bishops’ Conference.
A new secretary general of the Czech Bishops’ Conference was elected on Apr. 19, 2016, during the conference’s 105th plenary that takes place in Hejnice, North Bohemia – Father Stanislav Přibyl, current vicar general of the Litoměřice diocese. He will start working at the conference’s secretariat on May 1 and take up his office on Oct. 1.
The apostolic nunciature in Prague released today, 12th February 2016, information about the appointment of a new bishop of the Plzeň diocese. Tomáš Holub, general secretary of the Czech Bishops’ Conference, will replace František Radkovský as the head of the diocese.

July 6 through 9, 2015, the 36th Congress of the European Vocations was held in Prague on the theme: How to guide young people to priesthood and consecrated life in the family today.
