With his appeal for help yesterday (19.5.2010) Mons. Dominik Duka OP, President of the Czech Bishops´ Conference (CBC) reacted to the situation in the flooded areas of the Zlín and Moravian-Silesian Region.

Appeal of the Czech Bishops´ Conference for help during the flood

 

Prague: On the appeal of Jan Graubner, Archbishop of Olomouc, President of the Council for Charity and Mission of the CBC and Vice President of the CBC, the Czech Bishops´ Conference turns to dioceses of the Czech Republic, to diocesan charities and also to single people for help to inhabitants of the flooded areas of the Zlín and Moravian-Silesian Region.

Contributions to mitigation of damages can be sent on the account of the Diocesan Charity Ostrava – Opava: 5015003434/5500 at Raiffeisenbank, variable symbol: 333.

Assistance in removing of damages is also welcome where iIt is going to be necessary to put the hand to this task. As Christians we want to express our solidarity with the victims and people harmed through the prayer as well.

We would like to thank the Army of the Czech Republic (CR), the Police of the CR and the Firemen Rescue Brigade of the CR for their devoted help to all people in these flooded areas and not only  to those, who declare themselves to our faith.

Delegates of the Bishops´ Conferences of the European countries met in Prague from the 1st to 4th September 2019. It was a German-speaking sub-group of the CCEE (Council of European Bishops' Conferences), whose members are dedicated to the media in their countries.
