Pope Benedict XVI. appointed Archbishop of Cologne upon Rhine, Cardinal Joachim Meisner as his special Legate for the celebration of St. Agnes of Bohemia's 800th birthday anniversary. The Cardinal was welcomed at the Prague airport on Friday, November 11, 2011. Saturday, November 12 was then marked by the peak of the Year of St. Agnes of Bohemia’s celebrations, as the Papal Legate Cardinal Meisner conducted a divine service to commemorate the 8th centenary of the saint’s birth in the Prague Ss. Wenceslas, Vitus and Adalbert Cathedral. The Cardinal then offered an interview for representatives of Czech Christian media.
