From Thursday, June 4th, to Sunday, June 7th, 2015, the annual meeting of the Eastern Catholic hierarchs of Europe is taking place this year in Prague. Almost fifty participants at the meeting, organised by the Council of European Episcopal Conferences (CCEE), will include Archbishop Cyril Vasiľ, secretary of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches.
Prague: The meeting at the Benedictine monastery in Prague-Břevnov will focus on Christian family and its mission and will be attended by almost fifty participants from Ukraine, Slovakia, Romania, Belarus, Italy, Poland, United Kingdom, Hungary, Croatia and Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, Bishop Ladislav Hučko, apostolic exarch for Byzantine rite Catholics resident in the Czech Republic, will speak about the situation and mission of the Greek-Catholic Church in the country. The participants will meet and discuss issues with Cardinal Dominik Duka, archbishop of Prague, and the meeting will be attended also by Apostolic Nuncio to the Czech Republic Archbishop Giuseppe Leanza as well as Msgr Duarte da Cunha, General Secretary of the CCEE.
People can meet the bishops on three occasions: on Friday, June 5th, at 6 p.m. in the church of Our Lady within the Emmaus monastery, on Saturday at 9.15 a.m. in the Greek-Catholic cathedral of St. Clement, and on Sunday at 10.15 a.m. in the same place.
