Stanislav Přibyl new Secretary General of the bishops’ conference
Father Stanislav Přibyl, C.Ss.R., was born on Nov. 16, 1971 in Prague. He studied a geodetic high school. Having finished his studies, he entered the novitiate of the Redemptorists in Lubaszowá, Poland (1990–1991), and made religious vows in the congregation. In 1991–1996 he studied at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the Charles University in Prague and at the same time received priestly formation in the seminary.
After the ordination (1996) he served as a vicar (1996–1999) and later parish priest (1999–2008) in the place of pilgrimage Svatá Hora. In 2002–2011, he was a provincial superior of the Redemptorists in the Czech Republic.
He was appointed president of the Archdiocesan Charity in Prague in 2004 and served in this place until 2008, when he was appointed member of the diocesan Council of Priests.
In 2012 he received a licentiate in theology at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the Charles University in Prague and two years later he earned a doctorate. Currently he studies a financial management at the Faculty of Social and Economic Studies of the Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem.
On Jan. 1, 2009, he was appointed vicar general of the diocese of Litoměřice.
His hobby is music; in 1985–1990 he served as an organist in various Prague churches and pursued this hobby in the seminary as well.

Charles Balvo appointed new nuncio to the Czech Republic
The Press Office of the Holy See has announced today (21 Sept. 2018) that Pope Francis appointed a new apostolic nuncio to the Czech Republic – Msgr. Charles Daniel Balvo, an American who had already served at the Prague nunciature.
Pilgrims in Velehrad said “Yes” to God and Our Lady
More than 30 thousand people and through them the entire nation renewed today (5 July 2018) their consecration to God through Mary. The solemn mass in Velehrad, celebrated by some twenty bishops, marked the feast of Sts. Cyril and Methodius and recalled the centenary of Czechoslovakia as well.
