Curriculum vitae

He was born on 19 January 1942 in Velke Opatovice. In 1959 he finished high school and then worked in a tile factory in Velke Opatovice. Because of his belief he was not admitted to study at university but he could enter the Ss Cyril and Methodius' Faculty of Theology in Litomerice (later transmitted to Olomouc) in 1967.

He was ordained a priest on 1 July 1972 and served in Ostrava, Hostejn, Hyncice, Maletin, and Mirov. He was a parish priest in Liptan, Pitarna, Tremesna and Vysoka. On 17 March 1990 he was appointed titular bishop of Thunudruma and auxiliary bishop of Olomouc, on 7 April 1990 he was ordained. In the Czech Bishops' Conference he is responsible for Divine Worship and Culture.
